FAQ

WHY WAX OR SUGAR?

Waxing and sugaring are great ways to remove unwanted hair. These methods are more effective than shaving because when done properly, they remove hair from the root, not at the surface of the skin. Over time, hair that is consistently removed with wax or sugar tends to be much thinner, finer and sparser when it grows back.

HOW LONG DOES HAIR NEED TO BE?

Hair needs to be about 1/4 inch long. If it is too short, the hair can be more difficult to remove. If you typically shave, please allow 7-10 days before waxing or sugaring.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

We advise that you schedule your appointments every 4 weeks. If this is your first waxing experience, it is reasonable to expect your results to last between 3 and 6 weeks with minimal growth in the days and weeks following your initial appointment. Hair growth largely depends on hormone levels, age, genetics, etc. Hair growth patterns are cyclical; therefore you should notice a vast improvement of your results as you are consistent with your hair removal appointments.

IS HAIR REMOVAL SANITARY?

YES! At Adore Brazilian Wax and Skin Studio, we never, EVER double dip our disposable waxing implements, and therefore, there is absolutely no risk of cross-contamination.

DOES BODY WAXING OR SUGARING CAUSE HAIR TO GROW THICKER?

Nope. This myth is completely false. Waxing and sugaring have actually been proven to greatly diminish, and in some cases, even stop hair growth all together. Please keep in mind keep in mind that waxing and sugaring should be considered temporary hair removal methods as the slowing or stopping of hair growth may take years of consistency.

ARE SUGARING AND WAXING SAFE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?

If done properly, these hair removal methods can be a great benefit to sensitive skin. Sugaring is especially gentle on the skin than many other methods of hair removal, While it is not possible to predict who will have a reaction, proper care can reduce or alleviate negative responses altogether. Never hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.

WHAT TYPE OF WAX IS USED?

We use different types of wax for different services. We prefer sugar or hard wax for most of our services. Hard wax or sugar paste are perfect for use on sensitive skin. For some services, such as large areas like chest, bck, legs, etc. we believe soft wax is best. When sugar is not employed, soft wax is applied to the skin and a strip of pellon ( a non woven fabric) is pressed over the wax and removed. The hair removal products we use are made of the highest quality ingredients and our technique is impeccable. Consequently, our clients’ results are superior.

DO YOU TREAT MEN?

Yes! With the exception of some facial waxing, we perform all services on men as well.

WHEN SHOULD I POSTPONE MY HAIR REMOVAL APPOINTMENT?

  • If you are currently taking, or have taken Accutane, you need to refrain from hair removal until you have been off Accutane for 12 months.

  • If you are experiencing an active Herpes outbreak in the area to be treated
